Charity

Until April 2019, we're delighted to be raising money for Children's Hospice South West (CHSW).  Founded in 1991, the hospice provides care for children with life-limiting conditions and support for their whole family from its three hospices in the South West - Little Bridge House in North Devon, Charlton Farm located just outside Bristol and Little Harbour in St Austell, Cornwall. The care includes respite and short breaks, emergency care, palliative care and end of life care.

Throughout the year members of the RGB team will be taking part in a number of fundraising activities and we'll also be holding regular events in our branches to boost the amount raised.

Additionally, we will be supporting fundraising events organised by CHSW, such as the Rainbow Run, and following the success of our first Christmas Present Appeal at the end of 2016, it returned in 2017.  The appeal saw us ask customers and communities local to all branches, to donate a Christmas gift that could be passed on to the children and their families who were spending the festive period being cared for by CHSW.  We received a phenomenal response and in excess of 300 gifts were donated.

To kick-start the 2017 fundraising, our Health & Safety Manager Mark Randle took part in the Concept 2 Military Challenge, which was open to all serving and ex-serving military personnel from across the world.  The former navy serviceman took on the challenge to row as many kilometres as possible throughout February on a rowing machine and his effort not only got him effectively all the way to Scotland, he also raised over £1,700 – well done Mark! Keep an eye on our latest news and events pages to see what we have planned for 2018.
