A fantastic £1,492.68 was raised for Devon and Cornwall's air ambulance trusts on Friday 13th September during our company-wide Great Cream Tea Day.
The event took place during National Air Ambulance Week, which aims to highlight the life-saving work done by all trusts across the country.
In return for a donation, visitors to our branches were able to enjoy a delicious scone, cream and jam, or scone, jam and cream, depending on the location!
Tracy Owen, Fundraising Manager at Devon Air Ambulance Trust, commented: "RGB has raised a significant amount with their cream teas and we're incredibly grateful to them. Devon's Air Ambulances are very much an essential part of the community we live in and the service would not be possible without the generous support and donations we receive from local businesses. We look forward to continue to build our relationship with RGB and supporting them with their fundraising."
Stephanie Bray, Corporate Fundraising Officer at Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust, added: "We're thrilled to hear that RGB branches came together to hold a series of cream tea events in aid of their local air ambulance charities. A really fantastic way to fundraise and we're delighted that so much money has been raised to help us keep flying and saving lives."
The region is renowned for its cream teas and the amount of money raised really shows how popular they are. It was interesting to see whether we could put an end to the age old debate of whether it's cream or jam first . . . we had a mix! We'd like to thank everyone who visited and made a donation.
Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust and Devon Air Ambulance Trust are our chosen charities and we will be holding further fundraising events to boost the amount raised.
