An adventurous RGB team is taking part in September's Pavestone Rally and has unveiled the 1999 Volvo V70 they will be using to complete the European road trip.

The rally will see Barnstaple's Branch Manager Lee Kift, Ash Lewis who works in Internal Sales, and Ian Roulstone, Counter Sales, joined by Nathan Thompson from RGB Okehampton, complete the 1,000-mile trip in the car which has been decorated to look like the Greased Lightning vehicle from the film Grease.

The team will leave Dover for Reims in Northern France on Thursday 5th September, driving through Stuttgart, Salzburg and Venice, before arriving in Lake Como in Italy on Sunday 8th September.

The rules state the journey must be completed in a car costing less than £500, and throughout the trip the team will have to complete a series of challenges, whilst dressed in a variety of fancy-dress costumes.

The rally is in aid of The Rainy Day Trust, children's charity Variety, and the Teenage Cancer Trust and is open to teams that work in the construction industry.

Lee Kift commented:

"This will be the second time we have taken part in the Pavestone Rally. It is such a fun way to raise money for extremely worthwhile causes, and we're all looking forward to hitting the road again. We're using the same Volvo in which we completed the previous rally, as we were so impressed with it. This time we've transformed it into Greased Lightning and hopefully it will be just as reliable for this rally.

"In 2017 we raised more than £6,500, and we're hoping to top that this year. We'd like to thank RGB for generously paying the entry fee for each team member, and we'd like to thank everyone in advance who donates."

The Rainy Day Trust provides support and financial grants when times are tough to people who have worked in the UK's home improvement industries. Varietysupports children and young people who are sick, disabled or disadvantaged, and the Teenage Cancer Trust provides life-changing care and support so young people don't have to face cancer alone.
